As a Uechi Student,
I intend to develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that would reduce my mental growth and physical health.
I intend to develop self disipline in order to bring out the best in mysef and others.
I intend to use what I learn in class constructively and defensively, to help myself and others, and never to be abusive or offensive.
Our mission is to make our students more succssful in life through their practice of Uechi karate at our school.
We do this by teaching our karate as a complete discipline (mind, body, spirit) which in addition to developing physical defense, encourages the formation of high personal standards and respect for fellow man and women.
Through our practice and teaching, and our student service culture, we strive to produce individuals who are positive, respected and contributing members of society.
The North American Jiteki Jyuku Association (NAJJA) works to develop and nurture a community of self-reliant martial artists who are devoid of ego and self-interest and dedicated to a life of strengthening body, mind and spirit. NAJJA is committed to upholding the principles and traditions of Uechi-Ryu Karate Do through the teachings of Master Kanei Uechi, with the guidance of Masters Ken Nakamatsu and Frank Gorman.
Through the study of Okinawan Uechi-Ryu Karate Do, we seek a path that supports all students to improve themselves through the practice and mastery of the technical, mental and spiritual principles to provide examples for future generations. To always keep sacred the traditions of dojo conduct and decorum.
